Pet Health
Hi, I just wanted to write a testimonial about my dog Joey.
Joey is a 9-year-old Shepherd/Border Collie cross. For the past 6 months, he has been lethargic and uninterested in food. I have tried various foods to help him. He slept most of the time and was not interested in playing at all. He was also overweight and seemed bloated.
As a massage therapist, I continued to massage his abdomen daily to relieve some of the pressure from the water build up. One day I noticed an enlargement in his abdominal cavity. The vet confirmed an extremely large spleen, liver, and pancreas. Through many tests we discovered an extremely high enzyme count. It seems he has a pancreatic disease, where the pancreas turns on itself and eats itself. Sounds horrible doesn't it? Well according to the vet there is not a lot that can be done for this condition. He did suggest that I give him a low-fat prescription diet, which he prescribed, and perhaps also enzymes. This disease takes its toll in about a year.
I was not prepared to lose my dog just yet. So I put him on the Avena Pet Enzymes, Pet-biotic powder and Celtic Sea Salt, and continued with the prescribed diet. W
ell let me tell you, a miracle has occurred in my dog. He has lost 12 pounds, his eyes no longer run (they were weaping constantly) his fur is so shiny, he is alert and happy, and acts like a 5-year-old dog. He loves his food (which looks awfully bland to me) and is hungry all the time.
My dog is a therapy dog who works in the clinic with me daily. My patients have also noted the amazing change in my dog. He greets, and sits in his patient way with the children who come to my clinic for treatment. Whereas before he just slept in the corner and did not get up.
I want to thank Avena for their great products for pets. If there is any one out there with a pet problem, Please give the Avena pet products a chance.
I also wanted to add that he has had double knee surgery for a ruptured posterior crutiate ligament. So his hind legs could get quite sore at times. Although he is still a bit sore with some arthritis, he is not slowing down. He used to run with a limp, but now he runs outside with no limp, nor signs of pain. The only signs of pain would be on arising. Which he does slowly, but he is also 9 years old. I believe the enzymes and Celtic Salt has helped with his current condition as well. Not to mention the weight loss. He is a perfect 73 pounds, he is slim and trim. Maybe Avena could come up with an arthritic formula for pets!
I forgot to mention that all of this took only 6 weeks! My vet was astounded at the health of my best friend.
With great appreciation and thanks,

I am very grateful to you for your products, especially the Avena cultured N-Zymes. I have a gorgeous 17-year-old silver-tipped Persian cat and we have had no problems with him all his life, except this year. First, I noticed that his eye was half-closed and thought it might be an eye lash in his eye, which happens often. Little did I know there was a much more serious problem. Because of his fluffy fur, I did not realize that his cheek had a large abscess until it popped! I immediately made an appointment with the Vet. When I took my cat in they suggested that he be ‘put under’ so they could take a biopsy, which I did not want to happen. Giving me an antibiotic for him, they said that the abscess would probably return—which it did a few weeks later. Once again I took him to the Vet, and they gave me a syringe and the same antibiotic which I administered again. The cheek cleared up again, but several weeks later I noticed blood in the same spot…it was starting again. The Vet had said it would probably keep coming back and thought it might be cancer, especially at Fluffy’s age. I commented to my husband Jim, who also takes the N-Zymes, that I was going to give Fluffy the N-Zymes in the same manner as the antibiotic. I opened the capsules, mixed it with a bit of milk and, using the syringe, gave it with the antibiotic to Fluffy. I wasn’t sure how much to give him so I called Avena and my upline and the decision was 4 to 6 capsules a day. I did this and it cleared up beautifully and has not come back! I told the Vet Fluffy was doing fine when she phoned but didn’t tell her what I had given Fluffy. I must say that Fluffy doesn’t like taking it and when I reach for the dish and start taking the capsules apart he knows what’s coming and runs away–but he must also know that it has helped him and does take it well. So, every day now I open 3 capsules of N-Zymes into a bit of milk, put it in the syringe and give it to Fluffy. He will be getting this for the rest of his life and he is doing just great. Thank you Avena!
